My father and step mother, Harold and Sue Reynolds has been located and are doing fine. They live on Cornwall Drive in Fort Bayou Estates and their house faired very well through the storm. Some minor roof damage. It sounds as though that is the case for most of the homes in the Fort Bayou subdivision. I hope this helps anyone with family there. God Bless...

I am looking for Misty Laye and her family. I am not sure if they decided to ride the storm out or not. I am really worried about them, have not talked to them since my last visit there in 1996. If anyone knows the Laye family, please let me know. Thank you-

[glow=red,2,300][/glow]This message is for Kim Walskey. My grandmother lives on Martin Ave. also, & I am sorry to say that only a few houses survived. She lives at "Terrace Hill", which, as the name indicates, sits on a hill. Her home had some structural damage from the storm surge, and took on seawater in the front parlor, & her home is probably 20-25 feet above the street level. She stayed there during the storm, in the back part of the house, & made it out fine. Her neighbor, Mr. Winklejohn's , house also made it, but it flooded as well, & they had to swim out during the storm. Other than that, I know the pink house on the corner of Cleveland & Martin came of it's foundation, and another house, I believe the one next to Winklejohn's, received major structural damage. Most of the other homes are completely gone, from what I hear. My grandmother's house was the last one on the left of Martin before you get to the beach, so she was at the bottom of Martin. I'm not completely sure of the houses closer to Porter, although my mother lives on the corner of Porter & Ward, & her house is fine. If you go the "aerial view" section of the photos on the sun herald web site, picture 5 is of Martin Ave. It actually shows where the apartments & the big pink house on the beach were, but you can see alot of the street, or what's left of it. Sorry for the bad info, but I hope your family's home is safe.

My aunt and uncle from Cherry Blossom Lane, OS in the Magnolia Bayou area contacted us!! They are fine. They said that most of their area is OK with little damage other than downed trees and some lost shingles!!....miraculous!! They live south of Rt. 90 and the railroad tracks.
They said that they got phone service back this morning and expect to have electricity within a day or two.
I hope that this information will be of some help or comfort to those who have missing relatives in that neighborhood. It seems that that area did very well! Thank God and thank all of the many friends who prayed.
Let's all keep praying for those who still need help and for the angel rescuers who have such a difficult job to do. God bless them all.

My cousin just made it to Ocean Springs. My aunt and uncle that live on Kensington Ave are fine!!! The house is completely intact with no major damage. Don't give up hope --- we hadn't heard from them since the storm hit. They had no idea everyone was so worried. They have a generator and have just considered it "camping." Several families did not evacuate on their street and it sounds like they are all fine, just without communication or electricity.

Here is what I hear from the Ocean Springs neighborhood of St. Andrews Country Club. It's basically all gone. There are some homes still standing, but they are "see-through" and uninhabitable. That neighborhood is having it's streets bull-dozed as I write this. My sister's house is now a slab of concrete. As far as she knows, everyone she knows, but one family, had evacuated on Sunday. She is still uncertain as to the whereabouts of the family across the street. It's not good news, but I hope it helps to give you some idea of the status of that area, anyway. Good luck to you and yours.

Looking for info on family at 3420 Beachview Dr. Any info on this would be appreciated. My boyfriend went to the house today to check on them. He said the house looked ok, but no one was home. A dog was barking when he knocked and he didn't remember seeing a vehicle there.
