My Mother, Brothers and Grandson live in Ocean Springs and there is no news of any kind about the hurricanes wrath in your area. My family are natives to the area and I would like to know if they are okay. I don't know if you guys can receive my e-mail yet or if when you do it's not to late. If anyone out there is on line please let us know how severe the damage is and if there are any casualties. My mother lives close to the OS Harbor- near end of Kensington and Bills ave. Can you help. Thanks

Hello, I posted a note to the other question regarding OS. I have (or had a home) about a 2 miles directly east of the Harbor. My brother in law is heading there tomorrow morning and will give us an update. I will post what the conditions are like of that immediate area. I pray they got out. Most people in that area did. please go read my other post to see what info I have got so far. The area you speak of is not in a good area for what just occurred. Please send the address of your relatives and if My brother in law can get there he will check. I am afraid the trees down alone will really be an obstacle in the Harbor area.

Talked to my sister this morning and she got a call from my mother about 11:30 PM last night and she is okay. So far not to much info on the damage to the area. I have been on line to www.wdsu.com out of New Orleans and they have a reporter in OS but so far no word other than a brief moment when the storm first started. Guess as the day gos by all we can do for the moment is keep watching CNN or tune to on line to New Orleans wdsu and hope we can get more info. I will keep all of you on my heart and in my prayers that all will be well with your family's.

I have a cousin that resides in Ocean Springs, I tried to talk her into coming to my home in Georgia but she insisted that she stay as her husband wanted to stay. They live on Gehgsburg Circle ? think that's how it's spelled. I've not heard from her since Sunday night, no one else in the family has heard from her either. I sent a health and welfare message via the Salvation Army's website www.satern.org and am hoping to get help there. I'll keep watching this website and hoping the best for all affected.

My m other lives at Ocean Springs Beach on Martin Ave. I am curious about the damage. She evacuated north and I believe she is fine, but her home may be damaged. God Bless everyone there. It is my childhood home and I am so sad for everyone there.

I have an uncle that decided to ride it out in a two story apartment on 90 in Ocean Springs, not sure of the name but close to a hospital I think. Anyone know how that area is? Thanks.

Here is what I hear from the Ocean Springs neighborhood of St. Andrews Country Club. It's basically all gone. There are some homes still standing, but they are "see-through" and uninhabitable. That neighborhood is having it's streets bull-dozed as I write this. My sister's house is now a slab of concrete. As far as she knows, everyone she knows, but one family, had evacuated on Sunday. She is still uncertain as to the whereabouts of the family across the street. It's not good news, but I hope it helps to give you some idea of the status of that area, anyway. Good luck to you and yours.

For the gentleman who has an uncle near the hospital in Ocean Springs on 90, I can tell you that 90 is impassible - you can only access Ocean Springs by 10, and from 10 it's a crap shoot to see who can get through on what roads. Your uncle is probably only about 4 mi. from 10 if he's on 90 near the hospital. I suspect they were also subject to the flooding of somewhere between 25-35 ft swell, but all I know for sure is that 90 is a disaster and impassible. I hope you uncle got out before Katrina hit. Good luck to you. I'll be keeping a good thought.

We have family that live in the St. Andrews area. They live on Main st. and on Pear st. the 800 block actually. We know where our family is, but would like information about the area of their homes?
