Would appreciate any information about utilities in St Andrews. We are in Arkansas now and don't want to make the trip down until we can start cleaning up the house. A big thanks to all who have answered questions, both on the message board and via email. Dema Magers MiltDemaM@aol.com Water tower is down, no electric or phone.

:-/This is scott james saying thanks for the information from everyone. our house on mill circle and vermont sustained very light damage from 4 fallen trees. there was no water damage. this house is located off of vermont ave down from taco bell and winn dixie plaza. the pictures i saw showed all the houses close to ours were in geat condition considering the size of the storm. we are living in hawaii so communication was difficult and i wanted to pas this iformation on if it helps anyone. they also have telephone and water, but no electricy.
our friends over at langley point and porteux bay totally lost their homes. please keep them in your thoughts...langley point in D'Iberville / St Martin was wiped clean...no houses standing at all...not even a piece of a house was left. We are very sorry for all who lost their homes.

I spoke with my father who lives on Azalea Lane, about 2,000 feet from the Ocean. He had minimal damage, only one window was broken. His house is pretty insulated from wind with heavy brush around 2/3rds of the house. I am certain this helped him. Good Luck to those still searching. Phones are now working.

Just left Fort Bayou Estates today.. my mom lives there... it's in pretty good shape comparatively... there are some trees down and some roof damage.. but overall it came through a lot better than other areas of the coast.... definitely better than it came through Hurricane Elena...
As for Halstead/Davidson area... there was a lot of water damage in the general vicinity.. can't tell you for sure if it got that far.. I know that water got into the homes on Evelyn Drive and Minchek (which is off of Davidson).... so Davidson could have had some of the same damage.. but I don't know of any houses that were totally wiped out on Davidson.. The closer you get to the beach.. obviously the more damage there is...
Hope that helps...

valerie, my parents have a house at 112 braeburn at st. andrews. could you let me know if their house is still there? any information will be helpful because they cannot get their now and they are frantic. -moinca The houses on Braeburn did flood but all are intact. When they were searched, doors were opened. Quite frankly, it smells of raw sewage. At least the houses are there. (the holly's old house was fine) Here are some pictures of the street within the slideshow (from 102). The destroyed houses are on Tantalon. pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/lisbethmobile/album?.dir=/458e&.src=ph&.tok=phXSnkDBBJ53L8rW
