All: We finally heard from my cousin Sue in Ocean Springs. She used to reside on Gettysburg Circle between 90 and I-10 just east of Bayou Estates about 4 miles from the Gulf. She was not able to talk long, but indicated that her house was nothing more then a cement slab with rubble all around it. She is in a shelter in the area. The Salvation ARMY's website for Health and Welfare is www.satern.org click on the health and welfare icon. If that does not work for you contact me and I'll be happy to assist you in placing your health and welfare traffic with them as I am a ham radio operator and can talk directly to them. Good News! Gabe and his sister Emree steptoe are safe and well. Their homes weathered the hurricane although both are brick built and did get some damege (lawnwood) and some flooding (biddix). Hope this helps others.

My mom, Susie Greene and neighbors Russel and Lucy Thompson are alive. They are stuck in her house with about 4 days of food left. She lives at 409 Ruskin Ave. This is downtown between front beach and Cleveland. Most of the other homes on Ruskin are gone. If anyone knows how I can get someone to rescue them, please let me know. I have a family member that didnt leave ocean springs during the hurricane. we havent heard from him and his family. Any word on Yosemite Dr. In ocean springs. A former RI neighbor, Mary Greeley, lives on Glen Eagles Dr in St. Andrews. As of Sat. afternoon, she was planning on riding the storm out in her home. She is in her 80s and partially deaf. No word on whether she was evacuated; as of yesterday afternoon, Red Cross hadn't gotten into that area. Shelters don't seem to have names of people. If ANYONE can please provide info, please email me directly, lynda_durfee@amsec.com. Her daughter in PA is frantic with worry. Mary was going to hole up in her bathroom, and doesn't drive far, so she may not have gotten out. I have been saying silent prayers constantly since Monday morning.
