Hello all. I first want to thank everyone for their heartfelt thoughts and prayers for our community and it's people during this difficult time. We just got back on line today and I alone have over 3000 emails to answer on missing persons and many from other cities on how they can help. It's a long road ahead but I promise I will get back with each and everyone of you who have wrote or has posted on this board. I've updated the website and have added just a few pictures of our town. Many more to come as the devastation just doesn't seem to end? Thank you all again. Sincerely, Lonnie D. Root www.OceanSprings-MS.comEmail: info@oceansprings-ms.com

Can you please list any info you may have on Red Cross or other relief supply distribution locations? Currently I am only aware of the Fairgrounds in Pascagoula distributing ice and water. Some residents have returned home to begin temporary repairs and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Post by Jessica in Hawaii on Sept 6, 2005 22:33:03 GMT -5
Aloha, Lonnie,
I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate this site! I live in Hawaii and have family who live in O.S. , Biloxi, and Gulfport (this is to include my mother, brothers, sister, aunts....). I was frantic due to not having any contact with my family, and this site kept me living day to day with hope. One particular advice I got was to try texting, it took my brother several days to receive my text, but he replied on Friday 9/2....this would be the best text msg ever!!! My family are all safe, bad roof damage, but ALIVE.
Secondly, I would like to commend Vicky (Wal-Mart customer) who confirmed that my family was safe. Out of the kindness of her heart, she contacted me by phone. Best part of it all, SHE WAS A STRANGER DOING MY MOM A FAVOR.
MY HEART GOES OUT TO ALL WHO WERE AFFECTED, MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL. I KNOW THAT HAWAII RESIDENTS ARE DONATING AND HOLDING ALL KINDS OF CHARITIES. Mom, hang in there!!!
My heartfelt thanks, Jessica
