Bryan: What would you advise bringing besides ice/water/batteries/clean-up items? Thanks. F.K.

I am departing for Gulf Park Estates from Jax. I hope to get there by sunset this evening to check things out. My offer still stands to take pics/assess damage/check on folks in GPE. Any new submissions will have to be addressed tommorow, as I will not have access again until after I finish today's sortie. I currently have 36 requests, so I will not be able to get to all of them tonight. Please continue to email me at fairkim1973@hotmail.com with your address and cross street in the subject. It is very cumbersome to try to draw this info out of the main body of the email and then try to map the address on mapquest. Thanks and good luck to all.

All, I got to GPE last nite just before sunset; I am sorry but, I couldn't check anyone's house except mine before it got dark. I am leaving Mobile now, and will be able to fulfil most requests upon returning tonite. In general: most of GPE north or Marina is in good shape, although many houses had flood damage. On N. 5th, between Blueberry/Palmetto, we suffered about 18" of water in the houses for most of the block. Significant wind damage to shingles, but I saw no actual missing roofs in the North GPE area. Power/water/sewage= out, but I did see folks working feverishly on the power lines adjacent to Hanshaw near the school. The national guard is basing at the airport, and there is plenty of presence to deter looters. As far as the route, I-10 West is clear, all the way to MS 57, and 90 is clear without traffic signals. T-Mobile service goes out around Pascagoula exit on I-10. Going back east necessitates a trip down 90 all the way until 613 until you can get to I-10 (Escatawpa bridge Eastbound is out). There is limited power in Pascagoula and some restaurants (including Domino's on 90) are open. Also, the gas station on 57/I-10 appeared open (near the Shed BBQ). I saw alot of gas trucks in the area. I am leaving now but I will report back tonight, hopefully with some pictures.

Hi F.K., I hope your trip is going okay. I recently asked about the Safe Mini Storage on Hwy 90 in Ocean Springs. I was able to contact them yesterday by telephone and all is okay except for the airconditioning with the climate controlled units. The the wind blew the a/c units off of their mounts. They suffered no other wind damage and did not suffer any water damage. I am planning to drive down there the latter part of next week in a h-haul truck via I-65 south and then I-10 west to O.S. So an update on travel conditions would be very helpful. Thanks, Mitch

My nephew Brian is safe in Florida at his grandmother's house along with his father and their dog Gumbo. His mother is safe at Biloxi Regional. He has not been able to contact his good friend Andy. does anyone have info on the Ludlow family from Gulf Park Estates?
